Believe it or not, the holidays are here. My children and family begin arriving today and we have some exciting things planned that include feasting and getting outside to enjoy the Golden Isles. However, I am most looking forward to those unplanned moments that unfold just when you least expect them: laughs, memories, bonding, climbing the lighthouse or a live oak tree, generations, close friends, late night porch talks, an Eagle flying by, a silver lining sunset, or a smile from a stranger. Wherever you are and whoever you are with this holiday season, I wish you the best.

Beach Combing
+ The moon will rise on December 8 at 5:43pm.
+ This is the best time of year to find shells, bones, and other treasures from nature. Recently I saw thousands of tiny sand dollars as I walked down the beach. I also found a dolphin skeleton while I was kayaking. You never know what you might find!

Family putt putt challenge
When I have family in town for the holidays, I love to take them out for a friendly putt putt game. It is something everyone can enjoy, even if it is from the sidelines. We usually offer a prize for the best score or something extra if you get a hole in one. You can play at Neptune Park or Jekyll Island, but my favorite is the Driftwood course at the Lodge.
